ProductPro 百得好 is one of Hong Kong’s most unique online-to-offline stores that sources global lifestyle products for local shoppers.

With a growing customer base, ProductPro wanted to migrate to Shopify to make use of the platform’s rich features and third-party integrations to deliver a better ecommerce experience for their customers. ProductPro engaged Wave Commerce to assist with a Shopify migration that delivered the company’s design vision as well as efficiently transfer store data from their previous platform. After launching their new Shopify store, ProductPro made use of channel integrations to expand their digital sales and advertising and enlisted Wave Commerce’s digital advertising services to optimize channel conversions.

Goal: New Storefront Experience while Migrating Existing Customer, Product, and Order Data to Shopify

ProductPro re-designed their online store and chose Shopify for its versatility in handling theme customizations and third-party app integrations. In addition to helping ProductPro with their Shopify migration strategy, Wave Commerce also supported ProductPro with site mapping and digital advertising to maintain their SEO and improve customer discovery and conversions.

Solution: Factoring Data Migration into New Store Development

Wave Commerce worked with the ProductPro design team to build a tailored Shopify store that was a seamless transition from their previous ecommerce platform. To do this, Wave Commerce mapped store data and migrated customer, product, and order data and facilitated customer communication to activate their new store accounts.

Delivering an Airtight Migration for a Seamless Customer and Operational Transition

Wave Commerce worked with ProductPro to identify data to import into Shopify to facilitate a seamless platform transition that offered a more customer-centric shopping experience. Wave Commerce migrated existing customer records and architected a solution for migrating product information that included titles, descriptions, prices, and media assets such as images and videos. Features essential to sales strategies, such as discount codes, were also migrated. To ensure that store operations would not be affected by the transition, Wave Commerce captured all relevant order information so that order processing could continue.

In anticipation of the store launch, Wave Commerce helped send Customer Account Activation emails so that customers could continue to use their accounts. Finally, in order to build on ProductPro’s existing SEO, Wave Commerce mapped page redirects to the new Shopify store.

Using a New Store Launch to Delight Customers with Enriched Store Features

ProductPro also took this store migration as an opportunity to impress customers with upgraded store features, including an enriched rewards program and custom product messages. They improved on their previous platform’s points program by using Wave Commerce’s Shopify app, S Loyalty, which comes with rich features such as automated bonus points and holiday bonuses, available in both Chinese and other store languages should ProductPro wish to expand. As many ProductPro items may be pre-orders, Wave Commerce also built product message capabilities into the online store to trim product descriptions and offer customers a more user-friendly browsing experience.

Digital Advertising Sales Optimisation Across Channels

After the new Shopify store was launched, ProductPro also decided to engage Wave Commerce’s digital advertising services to reach new customers and drive conversions. Wave Commerce ran several conversion-focused campaigns using Facebook Dynamic Product Ads (DPA), Facebook Dynamic Ads for Broad Audiences (DABA), and Google’s Smart Shopping

campaigns. Using Shopify’s sales channels integrations into Facebook and Google, Wave Commerce delivered both brand awareness and dynamic product catalog ads and could offer ProductPro transparent monitoring and reporting. Finally, Wave Commerce enabled Instagram Shopping to assist ProductPro in growing one of the latest ecommerce channels available to online retailers.
